ATTENTION! if you signed up for the holiday gift exchange activity all private messages have been sent out! if for some reason your pm didn't go through and you haven't received your secret santa, please let me know!
please feel free to comment here if you are stumped on gifting and would like help with brainstorming up ideas! also, if you feel it will be in your best interest, go ahead and first leave a comment with your secret santa asking them basic questions (some of their favorite activities, things, foods, objects, anything that may help with gift giving). although if you have done then already and still are clueless then our elf staff here at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) giftexchange would be more than happy to help!

the holidays are upon us, retainers! and what better way to spread christmahanukwanzaakah cheer than receiving and most importantly, giving gifts! if you are interested in participating in our holiday gift exchange, signing up will take place from now until saturday, december 4th. to sign up, all you have to do is comment here with your name! since the activity will be a month long, please only comment if you are positive that you will be able to drop off your presents! meaning that you will have the time AND that you will remain active/a part of the community for the remainder of the year. if you aren't 100% certain, that's alright, but no one wants a secret santa who forgets about them! on sunday, december 5th we will be pming all participants with your who your secret santa is.
after you've commented this post, please make sure you post an entry in your own journal that pertains to giftexchange (whether you link it in the subject, or have it in the entry, just make it obvious that the post is for the activity). ALSO - PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU BACKDATE YOUR ENTRY to prevent there being 30+ entries on the friends page! this gives your secret santa has a place to drop off their holiday goodies! of course then, make sure you have anonymous commenting enabled! also, if you would like to include a virtual christmas tree for your secret santa (and anyone else!) to leave gifts at, feel free to do so!
once you receive your secret santa, you may start giving your gifts whenever you desire! mixes, drawings, youtubes, and mini-advent calendars are just some ideas if you're stuck, but get creative and use your imagination! just make sure to comment anonymously. you may give gifts as frequently or not as you would like to but please keep in mind there are three dates in which you should/will have to comment with some kind of gift (preferably "larger gifts" on these dates if you plan on giving a gift each day/week/more than these specified saturdays):
- december 11th: gift #1
- december 18th: gift #2
- december 25th: gift #3
these are not the only days you can leave your secret santa gifts. PLEASE go right ahead and spoil them with goodies all month long! just think of these three dates as somewhat of 'landmarks' - days to give your secret santa a little bit more OOMF! kind of gift, something with more of a bang! this way we can keep our eyes open for those who are participating and in case you don't think you have something for every day of the month, just make up for it by making these three days a little bit more special! after christmas feel free to reveal yourself (if you wish to) but please stay completely anon before then!
